How does mail-in ECU repair work?
You remove the module from your vehicle, package it securely, and ship it to us via any carrier. We diagnose the root cause, perform component-level repairs, reprogram the module to your VIN, and ship it back — typically within 48–72 business hours. Free return shipping is included on every repair. See our full How It Works page for step-by-step details.
Do I need to get a quote before shipping?
Yes — contact us first. We’ll confirm your module is repairable, give you a price range, and send you the shipping address. This ensures we can match your module to your order when it arrives and have your job prepped immediately upon receipt.
What vehicles do you service?
All major makes and models — Ford, Chevy/GM, Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai/Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi/VW, and more. If you’re unsure about your specific vehicle, contact us with the year, make, model, and module part number.
What modules do you repair?
ECU / PCM / ECM (engine control unit), TCU / TCM (transmission control module), BCM (body control module), immobilizer modules, ADAS safety modules, and key transponder / smart fob programming. See our full services list for details and pricing.
How do I know if my ECU is the problem and not a sensor?
Fault codes in the P06xx range that point to the ECU module itself — not downstream sensors — are the clearest sign. U-code communication errors referencing the ECU, no-start conditions where all sensors test fine, and issues that persist after replacing suspected sensors are all strong indicators. A scan tool pointing specifically to the ECU module (not peripheral components) is your best diagnostic starting point.
Shipping & Turnaround
How do I ship my module to you?
Remove the module from your vehicle, wrap it in anti-static bubble wrap, place it in a rigid box with at least 2 inches of padding on all sides, and include a note with your name, contact info, vehicle details, and fault description. Ship via UPS, FedEx, or USPS with tracking. See our full Shipping Guide for step-by-step instructions.
How long does the repair take?
Most repairs are completed in 48–72 business hours from the time we receive your module. Rush 24-hour service is available for an additional $75–$100. We ship your module back the same day the repair is completed.
How long will I be without my vehicle?
Plan for 5–8 business days total — 1–3 days inbound shipping, 48–72 hours for repair, and 1–3 days return Ground shipping depending on your location. Rush service and expedited return shipping can shorten this significantly.
Which carrier should I use?
Any carrier works — UPS, FedEx, and USPS are all fine. Use whatever is most convenient. The only requirement is a tracking number so both you and we can monitor the shipment. We recommend adding carrier insurance for modules valued over $100.
Is return shipping really free?
Yes. Free Ground return shipping via UPS or FedEx is included on every repair, no minimum. Expedited return shipping (2-Day or Overnight) is available at an additional cost — ask when you get your quote.
Pricing & Payment
How much does ECU repair cost?
ECU repair starts at $149 and most repairs fall in the $149–$499 range. TCU and BCM repairs start at $129. Immobilizer repair starts at $99. Key coding starts at $79. ADAS module repair starts at $199. Rush 24-hour service is an additional $75–$100. You’ll receive an exact quote before we begin any work.
Is there a diagnostic fee?
No diagnostic fee is charged if we successfully repair your module — the diagnostic cost is included in the repair price. If we cannot repair your module, we ship it back at no charge and issue a full refund. No fix, no fee.
When do I pay?
We invoice you after diagnosis, once we’ve confirmed the issue and the repair cost. You pay before we return the module. We accept all major credit cards.
After the Repair
Will the repaired module be plug-and-play?
Yes. We program every module to your specific VIN and factory calibration before shipping it back. On most vehicles it installs without a dealer visit. Some vehicles may require a brief idle relearn or key relearn cycle — we include any vehicle-specific instructions with your return shipment.
Will I need to take my car to a dealer after the repair?
In most cases, no. We handle VIN programming and calibration so you don’t need a dealer visit. Certain ADAS systems may require a physical sensor aim calibration after installation — we’ll advise you on your specific vehicle if this applies.
What does the 6-month warranty cover?
If the same fault returns within 6 months of your repair ship date, we repair it again at no charge — including free return shipping both ways. See our full Warranty Policy for complete terms.
What if you can’t fix my module?
We ship it back at no charge and issue a full refund. No fix, no fee — no exceptions. That’s our money-back guarantee.
What if the same fault comes back after the repair?
Contact us immediately. We’ll issue a prepaid return shipping label and repair it again at no charge under our 6-month warranty. We want your vehicle running — and we’re not done until it is.
