Mercedes-Benz ECU Repair FAQ

What is a Mercedes EIS and why does it cause a no-start?

The EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) is Mercedes-Benz’s key recognition and immobilizer control module. When it fails, the car will not crank — the steering may unlock but nothing else responds because the EIS isn’t authorizing the ECU to start. EIS failure is especially common on W203 C-Class and W211 E-Class vehicles. We repair the EIS at the component level and perform the required key sync after repair.

What is a Mercedes SAM module?

SAM (Signal Acquisition Module) is Mercedes-Benz’s equivalent of a BCM — it controls lighting, wipers, window heating, interior accessories, and more. W211 E-Class front and rear SAM failures are one of the most common Mercedes electrical faults we see. We repair them at the component level for a fraction of dealer replacement cost.

Can you handle Mercedes SCN coding after repair?

Yes. SCN (Software Calibration Number) coding is the Mercedes-specific programming process required after module repair or replacement. We perform SCN coding as part of every repair — your module ships back ready to install without a dealer visit on most platforms.

Do you repair Mercedes diesel ECUs (BlueTec / CDI)?

Yes. We repair ECUs for 2.1L and 3.0L CDI / BlueTec diesel engines across C, E, GL, ML, and Sprinter platforms.

How long does Mercedes ECU repair take?

Most repairs complete in 48–72 business hours from receipt. Rush 24-hour service is available for an additional $75–$100.
