Honda ECM Repair FAQ

What is a Honda ECM and how do I know it failed?

Honda refers to their engine control unit as an ECM (Engine Control Module) or PCM on some platforms. Failure symptoms include P06xx internal fault codes, the immobilizer / security indicator preventing start, U-code communication faults on a scan tool, or a persistent no-start where all sensors and fuel delivery test fine. Honda ECMs are repairable in the vast majority of cases.

Will my Honda keys work after the ECM is repaired?

Yes. We re-register your existing transponder keys to the ECM as part of the programming process. Most Honda platforms are plug-and-play after reinstallation. If you’ve lost all keys, contact us — we can often restore key data via EEPROM.

Can you repair Honda CVT transmission control modules?

Yes. Honda CVT TCM failures — causing shuddering, slipping, or P0700-series codes — are a repair we handle regularly. Contact us with your year, model, and fault codes to confirm.

Do you repair Acura ECMs?

Yes. Acura vehicles run the same Honda platform, so our full ECM, TCM, and immobilizer repair capability applies to all Acura models including ILX, TLX, MDX, and RDX.

How long does Honda ECM repair take?

Most repairs complete in 48–72 business hours from receipt. Rush 24-hour service is available for an additional $75–$100.
